MULTIPLES AND GROUP
RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

In multiples, gymnasts are able to compete with their friends in trios and groups, interacting with each other via the apparatus’.

Participating in multiples/group Rhythmic gymnastics help gymnasts develop teamwork and leadership skills, improve confidence and technique, apparatus and performance skills.

Miss Rhythmics Rhythmic gymnasts from Level 3 and above have an opportunity to represent our club and participate in annual NSW competitions for Multiples – Grand Prix series and NSW State Championship. They can also also compete at Gymnastics National Clubs Carnival held every year at Gold Coast.

Our recreational gymnasts also have an opportunity to participate in the Group Rhythmic gymnastics. Every year we create special group routines for our recreational and competitive gymnasts which they perform at our annual End of Year Performance for parents and friends.

WHAT IS RHYTHMIC PERFORMANCE GROUP?

Rhythmic Performance Group (RPG) is division of competitive Rhythmic gymnastics in Australia where large groups of athletes perform their routine free hand. The discipline combines elements of group rhythmic gymnastics, dance movements (mostly, but not limited to ballet, lyrical, contemporary, jazz styles) and exciting lifts and collaborations.

The sport requires athletic skill as well as strength, power, flexibility, agility and endurance. It is the perfect discipline to develop the ability to work as a member of a team in a creative performance environment. Each choreography creates a story, using expressive interpretation of music, through beautiful movements.

The subdivision of Rhythmic gymnastics develops physical qualities such as flexibility, balance, speed, strength, coordination and a sense of rhythm, where movements of the body are emphasised with expressive and aesthetic appeal. A good RPG performance is characterised by uniformity and simultaneity. Naturally, it promotes strong team spirit and leadership qualities, perseverance and dedication.
