Enrichment classes

Miss Rhythmics is proud to offer unique enrichment classes to complement our top-quality RG National and High Performance programs. These classes are carefully and purposefully planned to help our gymnasts achieve exceptional results in rhythmic gymnastics. Our enrichment programs are unique, as they are integrated into the RG program, led by qualified and experienced coaches, dance and ballet teachers who give correction on techniques and constantly encourage students to progress. Gymnasts utilise these skills in RG routines and choreographies, making the classes especially efficient and productive.

Enrichment Classes at Miss Rhythmics:

Incorporation in RG Program:

FLEXIBILITY

A high level of joint and muscle flexibility is crucial in rhythmic gymnastics, especially for higher achievements such as the High-Performance division, which demands greater flexibility. Enhanced range of motion not only improves performance and helps gymnasts achieve necessary body elements and movements with grace and precision but also reduces the risk of injury. However, improving flexibility can be challenging, requiring consistent, structured practice, effort, and dedication.

At our club, flexibility and body conditioning exercises are regularly integrated into the training programs for all gymnasts, from recreational to competitive and high-performance divisions. The time and difficulty of these exercises vary based on the age and goals of each group.

Additionally, from Level 3 onwards, we offer dedicated Intermediate Flexibility and Conditioning classes as part of our Enrichment program. Levels 3-4 can add these classes to their schedule if they wish, while for Levels 5-10 and High Performance the classes are integrated in their programs. This structured approach ensures that gymnasts at all levels receive the appropriate training to enhance their flexibility and overall performance.

These excellent flexibility and body conditioning programs are led by our experienced and accredited Gymnastics Australia coaches. These programs include various specialized exercises to improve mobility in the hamstrings, back, shoulders, and hips, as well as splits and back stretching

DANCE

An ideal Rhythmic Gymnastics routine is defined by a unique composition, creatively built by weaving together technical and artistic movements around a specific choice of music, where the gymnast transforms a structured exercise into an artistic performance through body and facial expression, combining strength and power with beauty, plasticity, and elegance. At Miss Rhythmics, we integrate dance training into our learning programs because we recognize that artistic qualities are essential for outstanding RG performance and high scoring

Each of our recreational and Level 1-2 classes includes dedicated time for dance, teaching our gymnasts various dance movements and coordination with music. This allows them to develop a strong sense of rhythm and musicality from an early stage, and all the girls absolutely love it!

For our gymnasts from Level 3 onwards, we offer unique Dance and Performance classes where they can explore various dance styles such as Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Salsa, Hip Hop, and more. These classes are led by experienced and qualified dance teachers who are either former or current dance performers. Through these sessions, students not only learn different dance techniques but also enhance their musicality, stage presence, and body and facial expression, making them well-rounded, confident performers both on and off the gymnastics floor, even improving their public speaking skills at school.

We are proud to frequently receive glowing feedback from judges and spectators about our gymnasts’ expressive and unforgettable performances. In 2024, at the Australian Gymnastics Championships, two of our High-Performance gymnasts were awarded the special “Best Artistry Award,” given to only one gymnast per division. Thirteen-year-old Mia Matiashevska received the Best Artistry Award in the Pre-Junior International division (12-14 years old), and ten-year-old Vika Raga received the Best Artistry Award in the Sub-Junior International division (10-12 years old).
